excerpt (1) of the "first collage of 2021" (2021)

this is my latest collage explorations - merging the beautiful photographic pieces of Jalan and Jibril Durimel (@durimel) & Turkan (@turkan.studio_).

bibliographic references & sources of inspiration:

o1: Morina & Monica Blain’s collages series (@dakamomo)

o2: Jazz Grant’s collages series (@jazzgrantstudio)

o3: Jalan and Jibril Durimel’s use of warm tones in their photographs (@durimel)

o4: Turkan’s use of irregular textures in their photographs (@turkan.studio_)

on the course of the last months, i learned a lot about collages - and more precisely about the use of space(s) & color(s) - by looking at the works of amazing afrodescendant artists i either discovered online or through exhibitions. […] on a sunny afternoon, while listening to an Orchestre Tropicana vinyl titled "OUTSIDE", i applied what i learned by looking at Jazz Grant and Monica and Morina Blain ‘s collages by merging Durimel & Turkan's photographic works. three collages emerged of this fun afternoon endeavour.
